Ok, this is the most important post of this blog I think. A lot of people have just been waiting for this. But even after searching my best I couldn’t find a company in UK that’s offering a good deal or infact any deal as far as contracts for apple ipad are concerned. Apple is getting huge positive responses because of its highly successful Apple iPads. 1.2 million Ipads have been sold in a month but still no mobile company has shown any interest in contract deals for Ipad. Waiting for Iphone 4 I suppose, where companies like 3 mobile have already come out with a good offer. If someone is thinking of being smart here is a bad news iPhone users can’t switch SIM with iPad. Since a lookout for contract deals for apple ipad was futile we have come up with some of the best apple ipad sims available in the market. The information is latest but please check vendors website for best information.

Although Orange was first to come out with Micro sim for Apple Ipad, 3 mobile is currently giving best deal on Apple ipad sims with 10 GB data allowance for 15 Pounds. The 3 network deals are also £15 cheaper than the top Orange data tariff and also allocate a whopping 7GB more than O2’s best iPad tariff at £5 less each month. All the sim contracts are monthly rolling contracts so you can always cancel without worry if you find a cheaper deal. This is the best that mobile phone companies have to offer I think. Let’s hope they come out with some really cheap apple ipad contract deals soon. I am keeping my plans to buy 1 for my daughter on hold till then.

Don’t forget to leave your comments below.

————————————————————————————-

Apple Ipad can come in really handy if you want to make phone calls. Not really getting what I ma talking about read further to find how Ipad can be used easily to make phone calls.

Like any good portable computing device, the great thing about the iPad is that, with suitable apps, it will transform itself into something more useful.

But what if you forget to bring your iPhone? Even the iPad 3G doesn’t allow you to make a phone call – its connectivity option is just for fast internet data traffic – luckily, it’s actually quite easy to use your iPad to make a phone call. Of course, you may already suspect about using VoIP on the iPad through the Wi-Fi or 3G network when reading the title of this article, but VoIP can give your reliable call quality at affordable price. A VoIP product – often associated for cheap VoiP connection – is Skype, although there are many other systems aimed at enterprise and consumers alike.

Download Skype for iPad, and with the iPad’s built-in microphone and speaker you can make calls straightaway; directly to other Skype users on Macs, PCs or other mobile devices for free, and you can make affordable calls to landline and cell phones by buying credits with Skype.

It is especially handy when placing international calls, where per-minute charges are generally much lower than typical mobile or landline prices. While the built-in speaker and microphone are great for calling a friend, you may not like the idea of bellowing to a slab of plastic and aluminum. Luckily, you can use your headset; there are a few made specifically for the iPhone and they work nicely on the iPad. However, the iPad can only support PAN and A2DP/AVRCP standards, and you will find few headsets using these protocols.

There are some limitations, however, making a call over crowded 3G network can give you poor connection quality -and Skype only allows a call through Wi-Fi at the moment. Although, you use a 3G iPad, you will be tethered to Wi-Fi connection for phone calls. Skype seeks to rectify this issue soon.

What’s more, it is impossible to use Skype for making a call to an emergency service, and there is a need to monitor the amount of data you are using if you choose to use VoIP.

Perhaps most importantly, however, you can’t accept calls when the app isn’t running. The good news is, though, with iPhone OS 4.0 that will power the iPad this fall, you can get the background process needed for receiving VoIP calls.

Only a fool would contend with the iPad as an everyday communication device, but it would also be foolish to think that it is impossible. It can, and it will become easier as the device improves.

Apple’s reputation for security continues to take hits as hacker group Goatse Security this week accused the company of failing to patch a flaw in Safari — known since March — and rendering iPads susceptible to active exploits in the hundreds, if not thousands.

The disclosure appeared in a blog post by Goatse Security group member Escher Auernheimer; he further lashed back at AT&T in its criticism of Goatse’s decision to publicize the vulnerability that exposed iPad users’ email addresses .

According to Auernheimer, Goatse Security released an overflow exploit for Safari back in March . Apple patched the vulnerability for the desktop, but not for the iPad: “This bug we crafted allows the viewer of a Web page to become a proxy (behind corporate and government firewalls!) for spamming, exploit payloads, password bruteforce attacks, and other undesirables. The kicker is that this attack cannot be detected by any current IDS/IPS system. We released this in March, mind you, and Apple still hasn’t got around to patching this on the iPad!” Auernheimer wrote.

Auernheimer concludes that Apple’s failure to patch the vulnerability has given hackers an opportunity to develop hundreds, if not thousands, of active iPad exploits, which means “the iPad simply is not a safe platform for those that require a secure environment.”

That led to the group’s decision to reveal the hole in AT&T’s Web site, which Auernheimer said the group did in the name of national security. Auernheimer reasoned that AT&T was not moving quickly enough to protect iPad users, which include high-profile military leaders, politicians, and CEOs.

“When we disclosed this, we did it as a service to our nation. We love America and the idea of the Russians or Chinese being able to subvert American infrastructure is a nightmare,” Auernheimer wrote. “We understand that good deeds many times go punished, and AT&T is trying to crucify us over this.”

The Apple iPad appears to be so popular that Apple is ramping up its production as fast as it can, with initial orders of 700,000 units per month now set to increase to 1.2 million and later this year, depending on demand to 2.5 million.

Digitimes Research analyst Kuo Ming-Chi says that Apple is now shipping 1.2 million units which is roughly four times the amount of iPad panels that were shipped to Apple in the month of February, each of which costs up to $90 or a fifth of the cost of the cheapest iPad.

If Digitimes’ figures hold true, Apple could be in for a bumper 2010 with at least $1.25 billion worth of sales on iPad hardware every month around Christmas. Apple was not even in the top 10 of global technological companies by revenue in 2009.

But since 2007, its revenue has increased by nearly 80 percent and the company is on track to surpass $50 billion worth of revenue for the financial year ending 2011. That would put it within spitting distance of Microsoft but still well behind Samsung or HP.

Could this be a non-starter here in Brit land?

Well, according to Simpson Carpenter the initial sales of the iPad are said to be disappointing. Before you point out the huge demand and stock shortages – apparently that’s down to “An impulsive minority will simply have to have it. For them, it’s not about function, compatibility or improvement but about raw appeal, its sheer magic.”

The market research company took to the streets to ask the British public what it thinks of the tablet, and, more importantly, whether or not they’d buy one.

Let’s get this out of the way first – Brits think that the iPad is “cool” – which I think most of us will agree.

The thing is; most on this island also think that it’s a tad expensive and “occupies too much territory already covered by smartphones, PCs, laptops and traditional media”.

Mike Stevens, Director of Telecoms Media and Technology at Simpson Carpenter thinks we might be confused: “When the iPhone was launched, it revolutionised an existing category that people understood,” he goes on to say “The iPad is at the vanguard of a new category that sits between the computer and the phone – so it’s not surprising that many consumers struggle to see how it could fit in their lives.”

Personally I kinda get his point as I’m waiting for the iPhone 4 and, as it seems to be kitted out with an iPad processor and will fit in my pocket, will probably find it more useful

Where do you stand?

Dang! Apple is getting plenty leaky!

Leave one yet-to-be-announced iPhone in bar and have it sold can be a mistake. Have another one get in the hands of journalists in Vietnam – well, that’s just darned right careless!!

Yup – iPhone 4.0 has appeared in the wild again.

This iPhone 4.0 leak features a handset which, at first look, seems identical to the one which Gizmodo forked out $5,000 for – on closer inspection this one (apparently grabbed for $1k cheaper) has a few differences and answers that were previously unanswered.

This iPhone 4.0 has been cracked open to reveal an Apple branded chip. After enhancing the image, the chip is tagged:

339S9084
K4X2G643GE
YN6024Z3
APL0398

Which is the same as the processor in the iPad

There is one noticeable physical difference between this iPhone 4.0 leak and the previous sightings of the new iPhone: two screws that were previously at the bottom of the handset have now disappeared. Other external tweaks show that this one is definitely a more polished version when compared to the one lost in California. The silkscreening seems final, showing 16GB where the Cali one just showed X’s. The screen looks really good and sharp and seems a higher resolution than the current generation – I’m expecting iPad quality.

The source of this iPhone 4.0 leak is apparently via an Asian businessman on a trip to the US. So, head over to the states as it seems you can grab an iPhone 4.0 on most streets.
