Ok, this is the most important post of this blog I think. A lot of people have just been waiting for this. But even after searching my best I couldn’t find a company in UK that’s offering a good deal or infact any deal as far as contracts for apple ipad are concerned. Apple is getting huge positive responses because of its highly successful Apple iPads. 1.2 million Ipads have been sold in a month but still no mobile company has shown any interest in contract deals for Ipad. Waiting for Iphone 4 I suppose, where companies like 3 mobile have already come out with a good offer. If someone is thinking of being smart here is a bad news iPhone users can’t switch SIM with iPad. Since a lookout for contract deals for apple ipad was futile we have come up with some of the best apple ipad sims available in the market. The information is latest but please check vendors website for best information.

Cheap Apple Ipad contract Deals

Although Orange was first to come out with Micro sim for Apple Ipad, 3 mobile is currently giving best deal on Apple ipad sims with 10 GB data allowance for 15 Pounds. The 3 network deals are also £15 cheaper than the top Orange data tariff and also allocate a whopping 7GB more than O2’s best iPad tariff at £5 less each month. All the sim contracts are monthly rolling contracts so you can always cancel without worry if you find a cheaper deal. This is the best that mobile phone companies have to offer I think. Let’s hope they come out with some really cheap apple ipad contract deals soon. I am keeping my plans to buy 1 for my daughter on hold till then.

Make Phone calls with apple Ipad

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

Apple Ipad can come in really handy if you want to make phone calls. Not really getting what I ma talking about read further to find how Ipad can be used easily to make phone calls.

Like any good portable computing device, the great thing about the iPad is that, with suitable apps, it will transform itself into something more useful.

But what if you forget to bring your iPhone? Even the iPad 3G doesn’t allow you to make a phone call – its connectivity option is just for fast internet data traffic – luckily, it’s actually quite easy to use your iPad to make a phone call. Of course, you may already suspect about using VoIP on the iPad through the Wi-Fi or 3G network when reading the title of this article, but VoIP can give your reliable call quality at affordable price. A VoIP product – often associated for cheap VoiP connection – is Skype, although there are many other systems aimed at enterprise and consumers alike.

Download Skype for iPad, and with the iPad’s built-in microphone and speaker you can make calls straightaway; directly to other Skype users on Macs, PCs or other mobile devices for free, and you can make affordable calls to landline and cell phones by buying credits with Skype.

It is especially handy when placing international calls, where per-minute charges are generally much lower than typical mobile or landline prices. While the built-in speaker and microphone are great for calling a friend, you may not like the idea of bellowing to a slab of plastic and aluminum. Luckily, you can use your headset; there are a few made specifically for the iPhone and they work nicely on the iPad. However, the iPad can only support PAN and A2DP/AVRCP standards, and you will find few headsets using these protocols.

There are some limitations, however, making a call over crowded 3G network can give you poor connection quality -and Skype only allows a call through Wi-Fi at the moment. Although, you use a 3G iPad, you will be tethered to Wi-Fi connection for phone calls. Skype seeks to rectify this issue soon.

What’s more, it is impossible to use Skype for making a call to an emergency service, and there is a need to monitor the amount of data you are using if you choose to use VoIP.

Perhaps most importantly, however, you can’t accept calls when the app isn’t running. The good news is, though, with iPhone OS 4.0 that will power the iPad this fall, you can get the background process needed for receiving VoIP calls.

Only a fool would contend with the iPad as an everyday communication device, but it would also be foolish to think that it is impossible. It can, and it will become easier as the device improves.

1.2 million Ipads sold in a month

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

The Apple iPad appears to be so popular that Apple is ramping up its production as fast as it can, with initial orders of 700,000 units per month now set to increase to 1.2 million and later this year, depending on demand to 2.5 million.

Digitimes Research analyst Kuo Ming-Chi says that Apple is now shipping 1.2 million units which is roughly four times the amount of iPad panels that were shipped to Apple in the month of February, each of which costs up to $90 or a fifth of the cost of the cheapest iPad.

If Digitimes’ figures hold true, Apple could be in for a bumper 2010 with at least $1.25 billion worth of sales on iPad hardware every month around Christmas. Apple was not even in the top 10 of global technological companies by revenue in 2009.

But since 2007, its revenue has increased by nearly 80 percent and the company is on track to surpass $50 billion worth of revenue for the financial year ending 2011. That would put it within spitting distance of Microsoft but still well behind Samsung or HP.

APad: iPad clone on Android

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |
There have been so many iPad clones that its even hard for us to keep up with them. All of them wants to overtake Apple’s iPad, but that’s not an easy task. This new clone looks so much like the iPad and it even has similar name so it can easily be confused with original, frankly this could be one of our favourite clones of them all.

This device is called M003 APad, a.k.a. iRobot and as you can see it really resembles an iPad, but unlike iPad this device uses Android OS. Android OS works pretty well for this device and with 7 inch touch screen display it has all that you need to enjoy multimedia. In order to make sure that you enjoy your multimedia content this device uses 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.

Besides that it comes with standard features such as integrated 802.11 a/b/g WiFi for internet access. Speaking of internet, APad uses Google Chrome browser to access the internet. Support for PDF, word, excel files is also included as well as email.

As for hardware, this device comes with 128MB RAM and 2GB, or 4GB hard drive depending on the model. If you need more space you can use microSD slot and use 32 GB microSD card on it. As for the price this device can be bought from China Grabber for $199. So what can we say more about APad? It’s not iPad killer that’s for sure, but it’s decent and a lot cheaper alternative if you can’t purchase iPad.

Ipad to be released in more countries

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

Apple has announced the iPad will launch internationally on May 28, debuting in nine countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The company still hasn’t announced international pricing information for the device or any carrier partners for 3G versions of it iPad…but at least some of those details should be revealed Monday May 10, when iPad pre-orders go live in those countries.

According to reports, Apple plans to launch both the WiFi-only and the WiFi/3G versions of the iPad in those countries. The devices will retain the same storage configurations as models available in the United States: 16, 32, of 64 GB of onboard storage.

The May 28 date is about a month after Apple originally planned to launch the iPad internationally: in mid-April the company delayed the international launch by a month, citing strong demand from the U.S. market.

The next nine countries on the list to get the iPad? July should see Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Singapore getting the iPad.

Game over for Game Crazy

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

Game Crazy is preparing to liquidate its stock and shut down the company’s remaining operations over the next several weeks.

According to Andy Chalk of the Escapist, the rumor that Game Crazy was closing its doors began a few days ago when parent corporation Movie Gallery held a conference and revealed it had filed for bankruptcy.

Game over for Game Crazy

However, the rumor has now been confirmed by an internal memo obtained by Joystiq.

“A decision has been reached by the board of directors to liquidate the entire assets of the organization,” the document reads.

The memo also notes that the store closing sale is “likely [to] continue for up to 60 days,” while employees who remain until the end will receive “store associate incentive plans” as a reward.

“It’s a crappy situation for everyone at Game Crazy and we wish them all the best,” writes Chalk.

“On the upside (and you knew this was coming), their loss is our gain, in a very selfish way: Liquidation sales mean good deals, so if you’ve got a store in your neighborhood, you’d be well advised to keep an eye on it for the next month or so.”

Is Apple’s iPad killing off netbooks?

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

Is Apple’s slick and unstoppable iPad slowly killing off netbook sales? Well, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty seems to think so.
Indeed, according to Huberty, netbook sales peaked in the summer of 2009 at a staggering 641% year-over-year growth rate.

“[But sales] fell off a cliff in January and shrank again in April — [apparently] collateral damage…from the January introduction and April launch of the iPad,” explained Fortune’s Philip Elmer-DeWitt.

“In support of her theory, Huberty offers a Morgan Stanley/Alphawise survey conducted in March that found that 44% of US consumers who were planning to buy an iPad said that they were buying it instead of a netbook or notebook computer.”

However, NPD Group analyst Stephen Baker told ComputerWorld it was “way too early” to definitively conclude that Apple’s iPad had negatively affected netbook sales.

“Could there be some cannibalization of netbook sales by the iPad? Sure. But it’s too soon to tell. Certainly the growth rate is coming down – but that’s logical,” opined Baker.

“In 2009, netbook sales were a growth story against nothing (in the year before). So it’s really a matter of where we are in the development of the product. I’d say it’s very difficult at this stage to attribute declining growth of netbooks to the iPad.”

Nokia sues Apple over iPad

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

Nokia has sued Apple for allegedly infringing on five “important” patents with its popular iPhone and iPad 3G.

According to Nokia spokesperson Paul Melin, the disputed patents relate to technologies for enhancing speech and data transmission.

Nokia sues Apple over iPad and iPhone 3G

“[The technologies] use positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing [for] smaller and more compact devices,” explained Melin.

“Nokia has been the leading developer of many key technologies in mobile devices. We have taken this step to protect the results of our pioneering development and to put an end to continued unlawful use of Nokia’s innovation.”

Meanwhile, Casey Johnston of Ars Technica noted that Nokia was likely interested in receiving royalty payments from sales of the iPhone and iPad – rather than demanding a full injunction.

“This would afford Nokia a 1 to 2 percent cut from each sale, or about $6-12 per iPhone and $10-17 per iPad,” added Johnston.
