Apple allergic to Flash

Posted in Latest in Apple Ipad | Posted by appleipad |

ipad without flash supportAfter the Iphone the upcoming Apple ipad doesn’t have any support for flash. Apple is being criticized and some say that it will hamper interactive content building for apple devices.Adobe has recently started a vehement campaign to revive everybody’s interest in flash and introduced latest Flash 10.1 runtime versions for Android phones, Window’s mobiles and Palm Web OS.

Why apple doesn’t like flash

Steve Job Apples chief executive officer called Flash a dying technology and called it a drain on CPU power. Jobs also said” Whenever a Mac crashes, more often than not it’s because of Flash” . He also confirmed, allegedly, that Apple doesn’t have any plan to launch any versions of its devices with flash support.

Responding to Jobs accusations Kevin Lynch Adobe’s chief technology officer said that they don’t ship flash with any crash bugs and they have best technology to avoid security and reliability issues. He also said that the problem doesn’t seem to be widespread considering the success flash ahs achieved.

According to an analyst to be at all efficient, Flash has to talk directly to the hardware, and Apple, which wants to control the user experience entirely, doesn’t expose hardware to outside developers.
